Gaffy vs Alfie
It depends whether you want software that files the repair, or a service that finds the person who does the repair. Hey Alfie (heyalfie.com) publishes more than one offer. The home-manager pages find and book tradespeople. A separate Premium page sells a membership with tradesperson hours included. A property-manager page describes certificate tracking and asks you to request a demo, and it does not publish a price.

Should a DIY landlord use Gaffy or Alfie?
Gaffy does not find or book a tradesperson. It is a tenant repair-request link, gas safety, EICR and EPC expiry reminders, a document vault and a tenant portal. As of October 2026, the first month is free, with no card needed to start, then £12 a month for up to 5 properties, plus £4 a month for each additional property.
Comparison table
| Gaffy | Alfie | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it is for | UK landlords who manage their own properties. Aimed at 1–5 properties. | Homeowners and landlords who want a tradesperson booked, and, on another page, property managers and letting agencies. |
| Repairs | Tenant repair-request link. | The home manager takes a description of the problem, can suggest a DIY step, and finds and books a tradesperson. |
| Booking the work | You keep your own tradespeople. Gaffy does not book the engineer. | The home manager says it finds quotes, books the tradesperson and handles scheduling and payment. |
| Certificates | Gas safety, EICR and EPC expiry reminders. | The property-manager page says Alfie tracks EPC, EICR and gas safety dates, sends alerts, and arranges renewals. The home-manager pages we read do not say that. |
| Documents | Document vault. | The home manager says you can store quotes, warranties and home information. The property-manager page describes a property profile for manuals, certificates and floorplans. |
| Tenant access | Tenant portal. | The property-manager page says Alfie answers tenants. That is not described on the home-manager pricing we read. |
| Price | Free for the first month, with no card needed to start. Then £12 a month for up to 5 properties, plus £4 a month for each additional property. | Home manager: the FAQ says using Alfie is free and you pay for approved tradesperson work. Premium: Gold £39.99/mo (£33.33/mo yearly) or Platinum £69.99/mo (£58.33/mo yearly). Property-manager platform: no public price. |
The home manager
On the AI home manager page, Hey Alfie describes a 24/7 AI assistant for home repairs. It finds and books local tradespeople, and it says every booked job is covered by a £1,000 Hey Alfie Guarantee. The same page says the guarantee is not a cash payout: if a claim qualifies, Alfie pays a tradesperson up to £1,000 including VAT, and the job is backed for 3 months after completion.
The FAQ on that page says using Alfie is free. You pay for approved work completed by a tradesperson, and the page says there are no call-out fees or subscriptions on that service. It also says Alfie is currently live across Greater London and is expanding into Kent and Surrey. That geography is on the home-manager FAQ. The property-manager page does not repeat it.
Premium membership
Premium is a separate page, so the "no subscription" line above does not describe this membership. As of October 2026 the Premium page lists:
- Gold: £39.99 a month, or £33.33 a month on the yearly option. Monthly Gold includes 30 minutes of tradespeople a month. Yearly Gold includes 6 hours to use anytime. The guarantee on this plan is £2,500.
- Platinum: £69.99 a month, or £58.33 a month on the yearly option. Monthly Platinum includes 1 hour of tradespeople a month. Yearly Platinum includes 12 hours. The guarantee on this plan is £5,000.
The page says you have 14 days to try Premium, and that if you book a handyman visit and then cancel you may still have to pay for that visit. Structured data on the page names the £69.99 offer "Premium". The heading on the page is Platinum. The prices above are the ones next to those headings.
Premium is a home-repair membership with labour hours in the price. It is not a per-property landlord software fee, and this page does not convert the hours into a property count.
The property-manager product
The property-manager page is aimed at people who manage a block or a portfolio. It says Alfie triages tenant issues, tracks EPC, EICR and gas safety dates, alerts you before they expire, and arranges renewals. It also describes job briefs by WhatsApp, SMS or email, and a property profile for documents. The page ends on a request-a-demo form.
There is no public price on that page. We are not going to guess one.
What Gaffy is for instead
Gaffy is the record: the tenant's repair request, the history of that repair, the certificate file and its date, and a tenant portal. The reminder is for gas safety, EICR and EPC. Gaffy does not dispatch a contractor and it does not take a cut of the job. If the thing you want is "send someone", Alfie's home manager is the product that says it does that, inside the area it publishes. If the thing you want is the file and the date, on properties anywhere you already have a tradesperson, that is the job Gaffy publishes.
